The US methanol spot markets began the week
on a steady note Nov. 28, as prices remained stable despite thin demand. Although many offers were made, there was little
buying activity as no new bids or trades were received Nov. 28. spot December,
and January methanol were unchanged at 91c/gal FOB USG. On the day,
offers as high as 95c/gal were made. Despite the
15 cent drop in prices over the month-ago, the market remained bearish. Sources
said that 95 cents/gal was the most common offer. Southern
Chemical Corp. announced that its North American contract price for December
was 173 cents/gal. This is 2 cents less than the November 28th announcement. SCC posted
