MCPI mulls maintenance at No.2 PTA unit

Materials Chemicals and Performance Intermediaries (MCPI) is likely to undertake a planned shutdown at its No.2 Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit in Haldia. A domestic source informed a team member, “The company is in plans to shut the unit by end August 2025 for maintenance. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Haldia, India, the No.2 unit has a production capacity of 800,000 mt/year.
