Due to weak demand, Asia mono ethylene glycol imports prices fell on Oct. 13. December ICE Brent crude
oil futures contract fell $1.83-$2.94/b from its previous Asian close, which
was $92.91-$98.99/b at 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT). The Dalian Commodity Exchange MEG futures fell from Yuan 24/mt to
Yuan 4,114/mt Ex-Tank for January 2023 cargoes. According to the Chinese MEG units, operating rates for
naphtha-based MEG units were around 65%. However, average operating rates
across China for all feedstocks were around 50%-55%. Arbitrage between the US and China or China to Europe
remained closed. The freight from the US
to China was valued at $97-$103/mt, for a 10,000-12,000-mt parcel. South Korea
