demand and low inventories. The
active traded January 2023 MEG futures on Dalian Commodity Exchange rose Yuan
41-47/mt day to settle at Yuan 4,092-4,150/mt exp-tank. October ICE Brent crude oil futures rose $1.68-2.50/b over
the Asian close, closing at $101.54-130.50/b by 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830
GMT). The spot price of mono ethylene glycol in the US remained steady at 22 cents/lb ($484-500.25/mt), for the week
ending Aug. 26. Arbitrage between the US
and China was stopped. Many North American
plants were reported to be operating at lower rates or being shut down
entirely for commercial reasons. However, none of these claims has been
confirmed.
