Market sources reported that Asian mono ethylene glycol imports rose slightly on Aug. 30, due to an increase in
demand and lower inventories. On
the Dalian Commodity Exchange, January 2023 MEG futures were active and traded
at Yuan 4,123/mt. Ex-tank. October ICE
Brent crude oil futures rose $3/b over the Asian close, closing at $104.54/b by
4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT). Traders
reported that arbitrage between the US and China was shut down. Many North American plants were reported to be operating at
lower rates, or being shut down entirely for commercial reasons. However, none
of this has been confirmed.
