South Asia PE: Prices rise on higher discussions, supply concerns / South Asian HDPE film at $945/mt / LLDPE at $935/mt

The import prices for most PE grades rose in the South Asian market in the week to Aug. 6, as major international sellers maintained their increased rates amid some improvement in demand and persistent supply concerns. Buyers reported higher price ideas for HDPE grades through the week, even as soft demand for LLDPE weighed on its negotiations. “We are not seeing a reduction in import rates, especially for HDPE grades. With an offer at $960-$970 level for HDPE Film, the tradable price has increased to around $945-$950/mt,” said a major HDPE buyer.
