The US spot import polyethylene
Terephthalate price was flat for the week of Nov. 16 based on stable last-heard
pricing indications within the low-70s to mid-70s cents/lb area. Prices were determined at
$1,563 to$1,585/mt (71 to 72 cents/lb DDP US West Coast). On the week of Nov. 16, domestic PET prices were also
unchanged at $1,874-1,896/mt based on flat last heard pricing indications in the mid-80s to low-80s cents/lb. According to
market sources, customers were focusing on selling before the year's end so
there was little buying interest. A source
stated that it was a buyers' market. Participants
in the market were also watching for October contract settlements for upstream
