Sources said that the US
export homopolymer-injection-grade polypropylene price held steady over the
week. Current levels are not competitive with key markets due to lower global
prices. Spot homopolymer-grade polypropylene export prices were
stable at $2,359 to$2,381/mt (107–108 cents/lb FAS Houston basis), amid talk
about rail car pricing at 103–104 cents/lb. Additional fees of 4 cents per lb for transport to ports and
packaging are included in the FAS assessments. Spot pricing for railcars was discussed as high as $1.05/lb
during the week. Sources maintained that
these levels were difficult to export due to global competitive pricing. It was at its highest level since November 2021 when it was
valued at $2,370-2,390/mt. Propylene
