The Asian styrene monmer markets rose
$12/mt to $1,022.50/mt CFR China Dec. 22, and $12/mt to $1,050/mt FBO China Dec.
22. The FOB
Korea marker rose $12/mt, to $1,022.50/mt FOB Korea. It remained at parity with
that marker for CFR China. Yuan 90/mt was
added to the domestic China prompt marker at Yuan 8,305/mt. This equates to
approximately $1,033.59/mt based on import-parity. It is $10.28/mt higher than
Dec. 21's close of $1.023.31 based on import-parity. According to a South Korean producer, they don't expect high
export volumes as they are primarily focused on the South Korean domestic
market. The term contract negotiations for
next year were held. A feedstock-based pricing mechanism was discussed -- to
