due to firmer demand, despite sharp drops in crude oil prices. The ICE September Brent crude oil futures closed
at $103.76-120.50/b on July 21 at 0830 GMT Asia. However,
September Asia-origin paraxylene cargoes saw their bids rise over the same time. After GS
Caltex increased its bid to $1,020-1,050/mt at MOC start, Macquarie Singapore
sold one cargo for $1,058-1,070/mt. On July 21,
there were talks of ad-hoc maintenance in China. This, along with Ningbo
Zhongjin's turnaround, could tighten domestic supply. A few
