Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene rose by $9-10/mt
to $1,282-1,310/mt FOB Korea, and $1,232-1,260/mt CFR Unv1. It also rose up $3-4/mt
to $1,092-1,120/mt CFR China on June 28, on the backs of rising crude oil
prices. August
ICE Brent crude oil futures jumped by $3.19-4/b to $116.59-130.20/b in Asian
trade at 0830 GMT. Paraxylene rose $24.59-30.25/mt
to $1,291-1,320/mt CFR UNV1/China, allowing it to recover a small premium of
$9.42-10.50/mt over isomer MX FOB Korea. According
to a trader, although the July-August structure went from contango to
backwardation on June 28, there was likely "not much room for
decreasing" since the gasoline market in the Middle East and Asia "is
also bullish." Unv1's CPC issued a
sell-tender on June 28 for 3,000 to 5,000 mt to load...
