The stable fundamentals of Asian benzene
prices kept them rangebound, while market participants closely watched the
global rise in crude oil prices. The January
ICE Brent crude oil futures rose from the previous session to $97.46/b at 0830
GMT. The front month contract stood at $97.41/b Aug.
31, almost three months ago. The FOB Korea benzene marker
increased $2/mt to $804.67/mt, causing benzene prices to rise a bit. Market
talks continued to reveal that China-delivery cargoes were on LC 30 day basis.
The current bid-offer range was cited at plus $28/mt up to plus $35/mt, which
is the weekly Mean of Korea benzene base price. Sources
claimed that some parcels were sealed at a plus $30/mt cash differential, but
