The US ethylene spot market participation
was fair as multiple offers, bids, and trades were reported by market sources
on Sept. 13. EPC
prices remained unchanged at 24 cents/lb FD Mont Belvieu in September and
October. The September EPC price range was
between 22-24.5 cents/lb MtB pipe, and October EPC prices remained flat. Choctaw prices fell despite an outage at ExxonMobil’s 1.5
million mt/year cracker at its Baytown Texas complex. September Choctaw Ethylene traded at 23.5 cents/lb FDC
Choctaw, 0.75 cents less than the previous day. According to September Choctaw ethylene, it was traded twice
at this level on the same day. October
Choctaw ethylene fell 0.75 cents, to 24 cents/lb FD Choctaw September 13. ExxonMobil's turnaround was not enough to keep ethylene
