Market participants reported only two
offers for US methanol on Aug. 10, which continued the bearish US methanol
buying sentiment. According
to a source, prices still fell as sellers offered lower bids to find the
market. August spot methanol dropped 1
cent to 114c/gal FOB USG. This was based upon an August methanol offering heard
at 115c/gal FOB ITC. Similar to September
spot methanol, it also fell 1 cent per day to 114c/gal FOB USG. This was due to
a September methanol offering at 115c/gal FOB ITC. As buying sentiment was bearish, the US methanol spot
markets remained in a long place on Aug. 10. Another
source claimed that production in the US was increasing due to lower run rates.
However, added demand was slightly lower...
