The European
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene market was thrown into turmoil in the week of
March 9 as market participants looked to understand the full extent of rising
upstream pricing, energy costs, and the wider ramifications of the Russian
invasion of Ukraine. The downtrend in pricing seen across February came to an
abrupt halt in the week, as the direction of pricing swung back to increases.
While less than 1% of ABS imported into the EU in 2021 arrived from Russia,
