Six consecutive weeks of losses in Asia's
acrylonitrile markets were recorded from June 14 to 15, due to lackluster
demand and growing supply, which pushed prices higher.  Acrylonitrile CFR Far
East Asia was valued at $50-55/mt less on the week ending June 14th at $1745-1770/mt. A producer stated that the recent reopening in Shanghai,
China's commercial capital, from June 1, did not bring relief to the battered
market for acrylonitrile. A northeast Asia
producer said that many Chinese buyers have kept their inventory from March,
which they purchased at higher prices prior to the great lockdown. They are still faced with increasing inventories and have
