On Sept. 29, the Chinese domestic propylene
market received support from last-minute shoppers ahead of the week-long Golden
Week holiday. The
holiday will cause the Chinese market to be closed between Oct. 1-7. The November ICE Brent crude oils futures contract was $2.77-3.50/b
higher than the previous Asian close of $88.19-93.50/b at 0830 GMT. Prices for domestic cargoes continued to rise due to
stronger replenishing needs ahead of the holiday that began Oct. 1. The propylene price in Shandong was Yuan 7,600-8,000/mt.
This is an increase of Yuan 25-40/mt. A
Chinese buyer stated that imports were too costly due to the strong US dollar. China's Oriental Energy has restarted its 660,000-mt/year
