Asia's propylene market
remained stable on April 21. Buyers were reluctant to purchase import cargoes
due to low downstream demand. Although the ICE June
Brent crude futures rose 38-48 cents/b to $100-110/b at the Asian close on April 21,
it did not lift support for propylene feedstock. As China-based buyers struggled with the COVID-19 spread,
buying interest in propylene was still low. A Chinese propylene producer stated that "the demand is
low, people like myself will prefer domestic cargoes" if they were to
purchase. According to a source, China's
Fujian Zhongjing Petrochemical Co. is planning to delay starting its new 1.2
