Despite limited price discussions, Asian
butadiene was stable on Sept. 14. Although
trading was limited, China's butadiene market remained firm on Sept. 14, owing
to delays in delivering import cargoes due to a typhoon that struck the east
China region. According to S&P Global
Commodity Insights data, the local China butadiene prices rose Yuan 100-150/mt
per day to Yuan 9,400-10,000/mt on Sept. 14. That's $1,179-1,200/mt if you
consider import-parity. Trading sources
indicated that the market would remain bearish due to lower downstream plant
operations. The CFR Japan naphtha prices
rose $7-8/mt over the past day, to $676-690/mt on Sept. 14. According to data, the spread between naphtha and butadiene
