Asian butadiene was rated stable on Aug.
23, as quiet trading continued. Market
sentiment was bearish overall, mainly because of the availability of additional
supplies, especially from Southeast Asia. Spot
demand in Asia was, however, limited as most end-users were able to purchase
their September requirements. China's spot
purchasing appetite was slow despite rising supplies. According to the latest customs data, China's butadiene
imports fell 35.9% from a month earlier to a low of 6,448 mt for July. Imports decreased 19.2% compared to a year ago. As supplies of butadiene in Europe were tightening due to
