Asian paraxylene rose $16-21/mt to
$1.081-2.500/mt CFRUnv1/China and $1,061.33-1,100.50/mt FBO Korea on Aug. 23
due to the strength of crude oil and downstream PTA Futures market. The October ICE Brent
crude oil futures increased $2.84-3.50/b to $97.52-102.50/b at the 0830 Asian
close on Aug. 23. Although bids and offers
for October lay could be distinguished in the earlier session, buying lost
steam during Market on Close, with the highest bid at $1,086-1,100/mt to
receive Asia-origin October arrival. Mercuria
increased the offer for Asia's November arrival to $1,066-1,100/mt. A few sources said that China's PTA operating rates were
