China's methanol import spot price was
stable despite limited price movement in China's domestic futures or physical
market. Market
participants noticed an increase in trading activity on the Chinese domestic market
as buyers started stocking up for December. However, prices had a limited impact on the market as
downstream markets remained weak and margins remained unfavorable to downstream
producers. According to market sources,
overall port inventory levels fell slightly from one week ago to just above
540,000 mt. According to sources, supply
in East China fell while inventory levels in South China rose slightly. Due to slow downstream demand and large inventories at
