While the Asian benzene market rose in
response to the recent rebound in oil prices, earlier bearish sentiment
appeared to have slowed slightly. Sources said
that trades on the CFR China basis were discussed in the market. August arrival
cargoes were inked around a cash differential of $30-35s/mt to the Mean of
Korea's weekly price. The destination details could not be confirmed. There were
some buying interests that had begun to surface. For example, a CFR Caojing bid
for a September arrival parcel was heard repeatedly at plus $28-33/mt, but it
had not drawn any takers. FOB Korea benzene physical rebounded,
