China's domestic prices are buoyed by
manufacturing resumption Trading thin in South Asia  



The sentiment in the Asian
polypropylene markets remained bearish for the week ending April 20th, although
domestic cargo prices for East China prompt rose Yuan 200-240/mt in the same
time period to Yuan 8,850-9,000/mt. China's market opened
this week cautiously optimistic after news that some production and
manufacturing activity in Shanghai had resumed amid China's zero-tolerance
coronavirus strategy. One source stated
that although the overall market is not performing well with rising cases in
China, Shanghai's announcement had had a sentimental effect, and expectations
have lifted. He also added that domestic PP prices were supported by higher
crude oil prices and futures prices. Exports
are still hampered by possible shipment delays. Some international buyers
prefer to purchase domestic stocks...
