Asian toluene prices increased by $5-6/mt
in July, largely due to higher crude oil prices. High crude and feedstock
prices meant that toluene buyers were left out. According to industry sources, sellers waited for flat
prices to rise further while buyers waited. Market sources also said that the market was still waiting
for the outcome of Malaysian Lotte Chemical Titan’s term tender. It closed at
11.30 am Malaysian time on July 4 but has not been awarded yet. Sources stated
