Methanol futures on the Chinese market
rebounded for the third consecutive day, while crude oil futures traded higher.
However, discussions for spot cargoes were sparse on June 29. Participants in the market
heard that a $320-350/mt CFR China bid was made, but they were unable to give
details about cargo size or arrival period. The bid was therefore not used in the assessment. CFR China was assessed at $319-345/mt the day before. Sources said that there were discussions on a floating basis
at a 1.5%-2.2% premium to CFR China's formula price. Iranian-origin spot
cargoes were also discussed at a 4%-5.5% premium to ICIS All Origin China's
methanol prices. Oil prices rose more than
