Asian spot styrene monomer prices were down
$27.5-32.50/mt to $1,150-1,180/mt CFR China marker on the day. This was due to
the domestic Chinese market's weakness and recovering supply. Yuan 90-110/mt was assigned to China's domestic
price on the day, at Yuan 9,580-9,700/mt exp-tank. This equates to $1,229.17-1,250.50/mt
based on import-parity on July 21. Spot discussions took place at Yuan
9,520-9620/mt H2 July delivery, Yuan 8,940-8,960/mt H2 August delivery, and
Yuan 8,650-8.670/mt H2 September delivery. The August
2022 styrene futures traded on the Dalian Commodity Exchange were down Yuan 184-200/mt
or 2.03%. They settled at Yuan 8,874/mt Ex-tank on July 21. Sources
