Asia's demand for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene was weak, as the upstream styrene prices rally has significantly
reduced ABS margins over the past weeks. Southeast Asia's demand was weak. Producers
indicated low profitability following a recent rise in acrylonitrile butadiene
styrene prices. On a CFR Southeast Asia basis, selling
indications remained unchanged at $1,500/mt. Producers
are reluctant to lower prices despite having lower margins. Northeast
Asia's situation was similar, with prices stable due to low end-user demand. On a CFR
China, ABS offers were heard for $1,430/mt, while bids were heard for less than
$1,400/mt. Producers were unwilling to sell at lower
prices, which led to the large gap between selling and buying indications. Prices of
Asian styrene at $1,128.50/mt on Aug. 31....
