Asian Benzene - Weak sentiment amid mixed fundamentals / Styrene prices fall after a strong start to the week / FOB Korea benzene closes lower

As fundamentals were mixed in the first quarter 2022, weaker trade sentiment cast a shadow over the Asian benzene markets. The January/February structure was unchanged at minus $9/mt, with outright levels turning south. An open trade with South Korea saw a February-loading cargo move hands for $917/mt. FOB Korea's benzene physical fell $7/mt to $914/mt Dec. 17. The CFR China benzene physically fell $10/mt to $917.50/mt due to selling pressure from East China. The January-arrival floating offer on a CFR China basis was repeated at plus $30/mt.
