OutlookIn the week ending Sept. 28, sluggish
end-consumer demands weighed down on Asian polystyrene buying activity.
Participants remained cautious about building inventory. A trade was made for
general-purpose polystyrene to Southeast Asia (GPPS) on a CFR basis in October
at $1,330/mt. Northeast Asia buyers also
received a separate offer at $1,320/mt. The
East China market prices fell to Yuan 10,000/mt on the same day. CFR Southeast Asia GPPS dropped $10/mt at $1,330/ mt at the
level trade. CFR China, however, fell $10/mt from $1,280/mt on Sept. 28. A $1,350/mt offer was made in high-intensity propylene
(HIPS) The domestic East China tradable
indicator was heard in the Yuan 10,700-11300/mt range or $1,285.44/mt. CFR China HIPS physical was valued at $1330/mt. CFR
