Spot import polyethylene Terephthalate
prices in the USA were down $15-20/mt over the week of Nov. 9. This was based
on pricing indications that were in the low 70c/lb range and lower Asian
prices. Prices were
assessed at $1.563-$1,585/mt (771-72% cents/lb DDP US West Coast). Asian PET prices were $15/mt cheaper at $900/mt FOB Northeast
Asia, and $935/mt FBOB Southeast Asia. Due
to falling Asian prices, and lower container freight rates from Asia, US import
PET prices fell 31% in June. The last time
freight rates were assessed from Northeast Asia to America's West Coast was
Nov. 2, at $1,500/FEU. This is flat from Nov. 2 and rates for the East Coast
were $4,500/FEU. This is down $600/FEU since Nov. 2. Rates...
