Asian butadiene fell $20/mt since April 8, to $1,300/mt CIF China on April 9. This was the same level as Jan. 3. CFR China talks remain muted due to a weaker China market. US President Donald Trump announced an astounding 104% tariff on Chinese imports during the early morning global session, sending shockwaves through the market. FOB China trades for late April loading were heard at minus 30/mt based on CFR Northeast Asia pricing formula. According to sources, Sinopec's local list price was further reduced by Yuan 700/mt, to Yuan 10,000/mt, on April 9. This is equivalent to $1,204/mt based on import parity.
