Asian Caprolactam - Discussions are tepid as slow demand
continues- Benzene feedstock prices fall- The nylon demand remains low Participants in theJuly 21 was a day when Asian caprolactam
markets discussed the continued weakness, which seemed to be unabated for at
least the summer. Sources
on both the buy-side and sell-side said that caprolactam was likely to rebound
during the summer season. Although there
was talk of selling interest expressed on a CFR basis at $2,000-2,040/mt, this
could not be confirmed. China's demand for
nylon was slow due to COVID-19 concerns. This impacted consumers' demand. In Southeast Asia, there was little news. Upstream, feedstock material prices fell as FOB Korea's
benzene physical dropped at least $76-82/mt over the past two weeks, to reach
$1,049-1,080/mt on July 21. The ammonia
