Due to a lack of new indications, US
acrylonitrile prices were flat for the week of September 20. Spot acrylonitrile in the
US was stable at $1,680/mt FOB USG on the week. This is based on the last reported
indications. There were no new offers, bids, or trades during the week. According to one source, "demand remains mixed"
partly because ABS is in turnaround season, but also due to softer downstream
demand. Current demand is "puttering along." Sources previously stated that because of high export
prices, producers are not currently exporting and are taking orders for
customers who are able to pay the extra price. Domestic ACN contracts were stable at 87.25 Cents per lb
delivered...
