Sources said that Latin
American polypropylene prices were higher than expected on the West Coast of
South America. They were flat in Brazil, but stable or higher in the Mercosur
region, which allows for free-on truck exports from Brazil and CFR markers. Spot homo polypropylene prices along the West Coast of South
America were $10-15/mt higher at $1660-1680/mt CFRWCSA on April 20 considering
Chinese pricing and offers. There were
products available to be delivered in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. Now, offers were being discussed with a $90-95 premium on
co-polymer to homopolymer. Copolymer was
valued at $1,750-1,770/mt. This is an increase of $30-35/mt per week
