Due to low market activity and stable
feedstock ammonia, spot export acrylonitrile prices remained steady for the
week of Dec. 6. The
US acrylonitrile price remained unchanged for the second week in a row on Dec.
6, due to a lack trades, bids, and offers over the period Nov. 30-Dec. 6. In late November, a spot price indication was made at
$1,460-1,530/mt FOB USGC. Spot export
prices were at $1,600-1640/mt in the fourth quarter. This represents a 5%
decrease from Oct. 4 through Dec. 6. Domestically,
the ACN contract fell 2.75 cents from the week Dec. 6. This was based on an
industry accepted formula and taking into account the November chemical-grade
