Asia Polycarbonate Weekly / Stable as demand is weak and costs are under pressure / Upstream prices rise - S Korea exports dip in May

Asian polycarbonate was stable on the 18th of June at $1.455/mt for the general-purpose molding and $1.465/mt for extrusion grade. Sources on the market said that the market was stable despite higher feedstock prices as supply and demand were both low. On an import parity, some East China prices for GP molding grade were below $1,300/mt, and one exporter was heard offering around 1,300/mt, FOB China. One producer in East China stated that "the increase in crude oil has had a relatively small impact on this product," pointing out that prices remained stable in the week beginning June 16.
