After falling for nine consecutive weeks,
Asia's Acrylonitrile prices stabilized on July 5, after stabilizing in Asia. ACN prices were unchanged at $1,640-1,680/mt CFR
Far East Asia and $1,580-1,620/mt South Asia on July 5. Sources
claimed that domestic Chinese prices were stable as Asian producers were
cutting run rates to alleviate the pressure on margins due to poor demand. According
to a source, Unv1's Formosa Plastics plans to lower the run rate at its Mailiao
280,000 mt/year Acrylonitrile Plant to 70% in July. Its June run rate was 80%. According
to the source, "We have reduced it to 80% from mid-June, 90% since May,
and now we are considering reducing it further down to 70% for July." China's
