- Deals made on futures with higher prices- Discussions on Jan remain muted due to weak outlook for
polyester

The prices of Asian MEG rose day-on-day
Dec. 15, as more offers were made due to higher crude oil futures. Sources said that discussions were stable with
some deals made amid slight bullishness about a rebounding in futures markets. A trader
stated that discussions regarding January 2023 shipments to China's domestic
spot markets were still scarce due to low buying urgency and a weak outlook on
downstream polyester. In late-Q1, the traditional peak season of
textile manufacturing, polyester demand is expected to rise. Therefore, there
are few buyers available for January MEG.
