Spot US export polyvinylchloride prices
rose $90-95/mt over the week Dec. 14. This was based on 500 mt purchased at
$725/mt FAS Houston. Prices were estimated at
$740-$750/mt FAS Houston. The base range is $720-$730/mt FAS.
An additional $20-25/mt will be added to cover higher drayage trucking costs
and warehouse storage costs for packed material awaiting export. The
assessment does NOT include freight, insurance, or margins. The
November domestic PVC price was assessed at 6 cents/lb, despite lower November
settlements. However, multiple market sources indicate that negotiations are
ongoing. Based on the indications, domestic prices were
assessed at 73.5-75.5% cents/lb. According to a Dec. 9 customer
letter, Westlake announced that a 6 cents/lb price hike would take effect...
