Industrial ethanol prices rise on the week IPA, ETAC, BUTAC stable on week ACETONE: The US spot price of acetone increased by $125-135/mt
(5.67c/lb) to $1-2/mt (46.6c/lb), on April 12. On the week, domestic
acetone contract assessments for truck and railcar were steady at 58.5c/lb
(1.290/mt). As import volumes at higher
prices were re-surfaced, prices rose. Since
the Russia-Ukraine conflict, prices in Europe and Asia have risen as have
freight costs. Sources confirm that the US
market supported higher imports because imports declined initially and
international prices rose. Spot barge
prices were discussed as high as $1,100-1,130/mt, and as low at $990-1,000/mt. Spot railcar volumes were discussed at 55 cents/lb. One source said that the acetone market was continuing to
tighten and rebalance, which supported stronger acetone prices.PHENOL: The US spot phenol remained steady at $1-2/mt
