The US spot-export prices for oxo-alcohol
were flat in the period Dec. 15 through Q1. Domestic prices varied and
price rises from two producers went into force at beginning of January. Market feedback suggested that there would be
some restocking at downstream polymers this quarter, based on a
100c/lb indication. On Dec. 15, domestic NBA prices were 95.5
cents/lb, an increase of 2 cents over the previous assessment. This was
based on spot-grade propylene price increases of 2 cents/lb from Dec. Spot PGP was
at 34.5 cents/lb on Dec. 15, up 2 cents from the prior assessment. This is
based on a price indication of 95-100 cents/lb in January. Export NBA
pricing has dropped $10/mt since October while export 2-EH prices have fallen
