The December settlement price for the
European ethylene industry settled at Eur25/mt, down from November's level to
Eur1,270/mt Nov. 30, This
settlement came at a stark contrast to November's settlement, which was
confirmed only on Nov. 4. European
ethylene markets were not surprised by the December CP drop amid illiquidity
and bearish fundamentals. Sellers claimed
that it was unlikely that the CP drop would spur any market activity. Sources claimed they wanted to see low stocks by the end of
this year. European ethylene spot activity
was limited during the week ending Dec. 2, due to weak demand ahead of holiday
