Asian FOB Singapore MTBE was
down $38.50/mt in the day to $886.87/mt on September 1. This is due to a fall in
gasoline prices and tapering of summer driving demand in America and the falling
crude oil market. Brent
crude futures fell $3.23/b to $94.18/b. This was due in part to renewed
COVID-19 lockdowns in China and a weak demand outlook. 92 RON gasoline fell $3.98/b to $93.33/b. According to market sources, sellers and buyers prefer to
trade cargo at a floating price rather than China's flat-priced offer. Sources said that arbitrage between China and the Straits
