Asian isomer-grade mixedxylene fell $1-$2/mt
between Nov. 4 and $981-$998/mt FOB Korea. It was $991-$1,005/mt CFR unv1. The
assessment was unchanged at $927-$943/mt. CFR China Nov. 7. As downstream
paraxylene decreased $4.75-$5.87/mt. China. Early in the day, the direction of the market
was uncertain as upstream prices were higher. ICE Brent crude oil futures rose
$1.20/b to $67.64/b at 0830 GMT. US MX prices for November/December loading
increased 8 cents/gal ($24.28-$28.50/mt on Nov. 4, to 471c/gal FOB US Gulf), or
approximately $1,429.50-$1,469.76/mt. Arbitrage
economics are still attractive due to the wide spread in prices between Asia
and the US. However, market sources have recently stated that bids from the US
market were lower and that demand was weaker. The China
market is still lower...
