Participants at the Asian
caprolactam marketplace on July 21 spoke out about the continued weakness,
which seemed to be unaffected for the remainder of the summer. Sources on both the buy-side and sell-side said
that caprolactam was forecast to rebound in the summer season. However, this
trend has lessened. Although there were discussions on the market about
selling interest at $2,000-2,040/mt CFR, these could not be confirmed. China's
demand for nylon was slow due to COVID-19 concerns. This impacted consumers'
demand. In Southeast Asia, there was little news. Upstream,
feedstock material prices fell as FOB Korea benzene physical dropped at least
$76-82/mt over the past two weeks, to reach $1,049-1,070/mt on July 21. The ammonia
