The week ended February 10th saw Asian
methanol prices drop marginally due to moderate optimism regarding China's
recovery from the pandemic. Market
sources indicated that although petrochemical prices may have increased in
China after the Lunar New Year holidays ended, momentum slowed down as
downstream consumers goods manufacturers are facing slow domestic and international
demand. In a February 10 note, Stephen
Innes, SPI Asset Management's Managing Partner, stated that while most people
agree that China will see an increase in economic growth this year it seems
