Prices of Asian toluene fell sharply
following the drop in crude futures prices and energy prices on July 6. Crude oil prices fell as new COVID-19-related
restrictions in China and fears of a recession in Europe clouded future
prospects. Sources said that an offer was made for 8,000 mt
loading between Aug. 15 and 15, at $1,200-1,240/mt FOB Zhangjiagang. This
included LC at sight and 99.7% purity. FOB Korea
offered 2,000 mt loading for August 2nd at $1,150-1,180/mt. However, they did
not see any interest. During the Market on Close assessment, no trades
were made. A trader stated that the MTBE price had also
dropped, so it was worth buying MTBE. He added
