Demand remains weakThe Asian caprolactam market was weak.
There were no discussions about materials for the following month. Participants
preferred to remain on the sidelines and inquire only on an as-needed basis. Some market participants
suggested that materials from Russia were flooding into Northeast Asia. There
were also some caprolactam offerings from China. This further added to the
already oversupplied market. Sources said
that the market for nylon and polyamide resins had been slow with few inquiries
downstream. According to a source
familiar, some producers had to cut or stop production periodically to manage
stock inventories. The CFR Far East Asia
caprolactam price and the Southeast Asia caprolactam price were $2,150-2,180/mt and $2,175-2,200/mt respectively on June 30, unchanged from...
