Asian benzene was valued at $1-2/mt on July
8, at $1,126-1,150/mt FOB Korea. The
marker is the average of H1 August, H2 September, and H1 September half-month
lay cans. There were no transparent offers
or bids. Both September lay cans were
assessed at $1126-1150/mt FOB Korea. This was in addition to the bid at $1125-1150/mt
and the offer at $11,128-11,200/mt. The
August/September spread was last offered at plus 1/mt. It was then assessed
flat in accordance with intra-day values. August was therefore assessed at
$1126/mt FOB Korea. In light of the
increase in FOB Korea as well as the price rise in China, the CFR China marker
was increased by $2-3/mt to $1,164-1,200/mt. Each August lay can be assessed at $1164-1200/mt CFR China.
